Practice Principal
Sarah
qualified in 1984 and after gaining
experience in the NHS, soon found that
her own experiences in rowing drew her
to the specialist interests of sports
medicine.
She was the physiotherapist for
Rotherham Rugby Club before her move to
Lancashire in 1988 where she initially
continued her involvement in sport as
the physiotherapist for Great Harwood
Hockey Club and as a consulting
physiotherapist to Sedgley Park Rugby
Club.
Sarah established the Rossendale
Physiotherapy and Sports Injuries Clinic
in 1989, moving to the current premises
in 2010 and expanding her practise in
the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal
conditions.
She has maintained her close links
with sport and over the years numerous
athletes and teams have benefited from
Sarah’s skills, from international
Olympic competitors to members of local
youth teams covering a diverse range of
sports. She was the Senior Governing
Body Physiotherapist for the British
Handball Association from 1991 to 2007,
working with the Great Britain, England
and Scotland handball teams in training
and competition both at home and abroad.
Additionally she has worked as an HQ
Physiotherapist at both the Commonwealth
Games and at the Youth Olympics.
She is currently working on a project
with The University of Manchester,
researching the treatment of migraine
headaches by mobilisation of the
cervical spine.
Jayne
Boyd - Practice Manager
As
Practice Manager, Jayne utilises her
vast experience in facilities management
to ensure the day to day running and
smooth operation of the practice.
Prior to Jayne gaining her MSc in
Facilities Management, she forged a
successful career in secretarial
management and administration. Her
secretarial and facilities skillset make
her an invaluable asset to the team.
